Apr 30, 2017 - From filesFremont County's Elks Lodge recognized high school students from several communities as April wound down 56 years ago this week. Ted Baldwin of Lander, grand exalted ruler of the local Elks, led the ceremonies.
The top honors went to Robert Bengstrom of Lander and Jeanette Hubbard of Riverton. Each won a $100 Elks leadership scholarship. John Hursh and Jana Sackman, both of Riverton, were $50 savings bond winners for community leadership.
Other finalists in the scholarship competition were Jacqueline Skovard of Dubois, Gary Foster and Richard Cornish of Riverton, Judy Brasel of Lander, and Sue Pingetzer of Morton.
Finalists for the leadership bonds were Pamela Jean Smith and Bonnie Steers of Lander, Kathy Hawley and Vicky Jean Mosher of Dubois, Larry Peters of Riverton, and Charlotte Reynolds of Shoshoni.
