Jun 16, 2017 - From staff reportsThe Washakie Ranger District of Shoshone National Forest has opened Louis Lake Road (Forest Service Road 300), also known as the Loop Road, from Sinks Canyon to Worthen Meadow.
Frye Lake and Worthen Meadow Reservoir are free of ice, and Worthen Meadow Campground is now open.
Due to remaining snowdrifts and wet road surfaces, the rest of the Loop Road remains closed.
Caution should be used for any travel on the motorized system beyond this open portion of FSR 300 as melt-off from higher elevations is still occurring.
All river and stream crossings on the motorized system off of this road are currently impassable due to high, swift water.
For further information contact the Washakie Ranger District office at 332-5460.
